In accordance with current Moroccan legislation, ONHYM has established a Health & Safety Committee (CSH).

Safety projects

  • Maintenance of hydrocarbon-field operating infrastructure in the Gharb and Essaouira basins.
  • Safety projects: pipeline inspection, cathodic protection, and oil-drilling-rig inspection.
  • Acquisition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Acquisition and installation of safety signage at headquarters and the ONHYM campus.
  • Supervision of fit-out works for the housing campus serving the Meskala natural-gas treatment unit, and maintenance of its equipment.
  • First-aid and firefighting training.
  • Internal training and awareness programs covering work permits, extinguisher use, cathodic protection, road-traffic risks, and subcontractor awareness.

Occurrences development

ONHYM and its partners help clients reduce their CO₂ emissions by replacing heavy polluting fuels on their sites with cleaner natural gas. Numerous further actions reduce greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions:
  • Optimising travel by reviewing site organisation and daily vehicle use.
  • Pooling journeys and using remote-communication tools.
  • Using renewable energy—mainly solar—to partially power well sites in the Gharb region.
  • Converting the Gharb generators to gas-powered units.
  • Preventive maintenance to keep all equipment running efficiently.
  • Using biodegradable polymer-based drilling mud.
  • Safe identification, collection, and transport of chemical products.
  • Site rehabilitation and clean-up at the end of works, in accordance with oil-industry standards.
